Datacom Infrastructure Upgrade, 825 8TH AVENUE
After contracting for a new location in Manhattan, Nomura Holding America, Inc., a leading financial service group with experience working in New York City, chose Forest Datacom to do the interior fit out of the location including electrical and datacom.
Forest NY delivered and installed the critical electrical datacom infrastructure for this site including: expert copper, fiber and security installation; installation of multi-mode, single mode and copper risers; furnished and installed Cat6A cable to trading and office locations; installation of the DAS system.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Forest NY Datacom installed approximately 3 million feet of Cat6A cable to trading locations on four floors of trading. Forest NY also pulled the MM and SM fiber and copper risers from the MDFs. Forest facilitated and installed the DAS cabling on these floors for the cellular providers. In addition to the IT and cellular scope, Forest also facilitated and installed the cabling for the security system and all of the security hardware including cameras, card readers, locks, etc. The cabling of both MDFs and labs were also included in IT scope for Nomura.
Forest NY was able to meet the clients very aggressive schedule, which included MDF cabling and risers completed in six months. Trading floors and executive floors were also cabled in tight time frames and turned over to the customer on time.
Nomura’s headquarters were originally located in the World Financial Center. This large trading firm decided to move their headquarters from Downtown to Midtown Manhattan where they now occupy a good portion of the building located at 825 8th Avenue.
