VALUE DELIVERED

Expert lighting installation; professional delivery of advanced lighting systems; increased energy efficiency; tailored lighting capability; safe, reliable kitchen wiring; installation of advanced audio-visual technology; optimum lighting control throughout the building.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

To build new headquarters offices.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

Needing an electrical contractor with experience working in New York City and the advanced capabilities required for a complex tenant fit-out, this client chose Forest Electric. The company’s scope of work extended through four floors and two sublevels. Throughout the building, the company installed high-end energy-efficient LED (light emitting diode) and fluorescent lighting as well as a Lutron lighting system with centralized computer control. This system also controlled the lighting for the sixth floor patio.

On the sixth floor, this system extended to the open areas and corridors. However, for the sixth floor executive offices, main boardroom, and conference rooms, the company installed a Lutron graphic eye system. It provides localized control, so occupants of individual spaces can tailor the lighting to their specific requirements. At the same time, the company integrated the Lutron system with the conference room audio-visual equipment. Forest also performed electrical work in the cafeteria. There the company put in wiring and other electrical components for warming stations, an exhaust fan, a full-sized grill, pizza ovens, and other kitchen equipment.

SOLUTIONS

The NFL lockout which was so challenging for negotiators also presented challenges for Forest Electric. During the lockout, the company worked at a normal pace. As soon as the contracts were signed, however, the company had to re-plan and reschedule the remaining work to complete the project on a “fast-track” basis.
